How easy or difficult would life have been if everyone could literaly time travel! We all can travel through time in our imagination, thinking about past and possibilities. However, it still remains to see if it is scientifically possible. Before H G Wells wrote The Time Machine, there have been a few stories which used the medium of time travelling to enchant the readers. Here is one of them that happened to read at midnight. I’m not familiar with the work of Edward Page Mitchell but this story turns out to be an attention grabber.

Here is the story: The Clock That Went Backwards by Edward Page Mitchell.

Like an ode to metaphysical time, the characters in it, end up travelling back in time and change history. Perhaps altering a bit of cause from the past to remove the effects of the present turns out to be a major purpose for anyone who wishes to travel back in past.
